BarKA (barka.e-epites.hu) is a public, authoritative, map-based web application for registering and displaying brownfield parcels in Hungary.
What is it used for?
BarKA is a map-based information system providing publicly accessible, up-to-date, authoritative and informative data on brownfield areas identified by the Ministry of Transport and Construction. The web-based map allows anyone to freely view brownfield areas and related information.
What problem does it solve?
To protect green areas, the Hungarian Architecture Act establishes the priority of brownfield areas as a basic principle. Supporting and incentive measures promote their use, while BarKA’s map-based inventory facilitates their identification and utilization.
