National Geospatial Base Map Web Map Tile Service (NGMHu)

Services
Land Registry, Geodesy and Surveying

The NGMHu Web Map Tile Service (WMTS) is accessible after a free registration and can be integrated into any GIS software.

What is it used for?

The NGMHu WMTS (Web Map Tile Service) is a base map service featuring predefined data content, which is directly accessible following a free registration. It is a national service that displays optimized data volumes for predefined zoom levels, and it can be integrated into various online or offline GIS software in both the Hungarian Unified National Projection (EOV) and Web Mercator coordinate systems. The direct WMTS access delivers an ideal base map service for visualizing sectoral data (such as solar power plant locations, structures, or topographic features).  The system also supports the setup of load-balanced, direct server-to-server connections.

What problem does it solve?

The primary goal of the NGMHu in public administration is to continuously provide a mapping 'background'—also via the WMTS protocol—that can be used for map orientation and integrated into individual systems as a base map, making it compatible with any desktop GIS or WebGIS service. Available for free of charge; however signing a contract is required for high-volume usage, in order to establish a server-to-server connection, please contact us.

What does this service offer?

The geospatial data content integrated into the service includes: administrative boundaries, built up area boundaries, buildings, structures, public buildings and building types, transportation facilities (road networks, rail networks, maritime and aviation facilities), water networks, water management facilities, rural land cover, specific layers of topograhy, nature conservation, and toponymy (geographical names).
